The South West is well known for its wonderful local produce, from fresh seafood to traditional cream teas, and more recently, local award-winning wines.

Local Markets - Exeter Farmers' Market is held every Thursday on the corner of South Street/Fore Street between 9am - 2pm. Shoppers can sample and buy a wide range of Westcountry produce such as cheeses, fish & meats, organic fruit & vegetables, preserves, cakes, bread, pies and much more.

Once a month (usually the third Sunday) there is the "Slow Food Devon" Topsham Market. 

Award-winning Pebblebed Wine is produced at local vineyards near Topsham and Ottery St Mary. Visit their wine cellar in Topsham for a glass or two with Geoff and for information about vineyard tours.

Topsham Wines is a fantastic independent wine merchants, located at the roundabout end of Topsham high street. Jim and Andrew stock and sample a wide selection of your favourite tipples, so if you're looking for friendly advise on what's a great bottle within your budget they never fail!  The owner Jim Kingston has a new website under construction www.topshamwines.co.uk

Darts Farm is a real haven for ‘foodies' with a fabulous selection of local produce including meat, fish and cheeses to inspire all chefs as well as sophisticated ready meals for those who'd rather let someone else do all the hard work. Also great for regional food items to take home as gifts.

Fresh fish can be bought direct from the fishermen on the beach at Budleigh Salterton - tastes best BBQ'd fresh on the pebbles. Local crab is also a real treat and served in many of the cafes and pubs along the coast. There's nothing quite like fish & chips eaten on the beach on a lovely evening,The fish and chip shop at Budleigh Salteron is excellent as is The Fish Shed at Darts Farm.

Lovely Otterton Mill is a real local gem offering fantastic food, live music evenings, artist studios, and organic bakery. It's also a start or finish point for a lovely walk along the River Otter to the sea at Budleigh Salterton. With outdoor tables it's a great spot when the sun is shining or for those with dogs or children! 

The Local Food Company operates from the edge of Dartmoor national park and specialises in organically grown locally sourced food. They can provide a selection of wonderful hampers delivered direct to your holiday cottage. Just imagine arriving at your cottage switching off your mobile and tucking into a beautiful selection of local food, its the ideal way to start a holiday! 

The Sharpham Estate over looking the river Dart near Totnes, produce world class wines and cheeses. The farm use there own Jersey cow's milk and totally organic creamery. They have purposefully selected cool climate grapes to produce various varieties of wine. You can tour the farm and vineyards, a tour includes: an explanation of the wine making process, guided tour of the vineyard, a river walk along the banks of the Dart, light lunch consisting of Sharpham cheeses and local bread and a complementary bottle of Sharpham Dart Valley Reserve. The South Devon Chilli Farm, is situated in south Devon between Plymouth and Torquay and is open to the public, you can walk amongst the fruiting chilli plants, sample all of the sauces, preserves, and chilli chocolate and take home Chilli seedlings, plants and seeds from the shop. They supply their fantastic chillies to chefs, markets and retailers across the country and have been referred to as "the best in the country" by Jamie Oliver.
