Ottery St Mary Farmers Market - Friday the 4th of December. Fresh local produce including all varieties of meats, cheeses, cakes and preserves. Open 9am to 1pm. For more information contact the Ottery St Mary Tourist Information Centre on: 01404 813964.

Exeter Farmers Market - December's dates: 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th. A wide variety of fresh local West Country foods are available to try and buy at the Exeter's Farmers Market. The market runs every Thursday throughout the year on the junction of South Street and Fore Street. 9am - 2pm.  

Visit Santa! in his grotto at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. December dates' are: 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 21th, 22nd & 23rd. Between 11.30am-4.30pm. Christmas Eve between 11.30am-3.30pm. 

Crediton Farmers Market - Saturday the 5th of December 2009, 10am - 1pm. Quality local produce. Voted Best South West Farmers Market 2005. With over 35 stalls this is the largest farmers market in Devon and has been voted the Best Farmers Market in Devon for two years running in the Devon Life Food & Drink Awards. Exmouth Farmers Market - Wednesday the 9th of December, 9am to 1pm. The market is held on The Strand Gardens, Exmouth. The Strand Gardens, Exmouth, Devon, Tel: 01395 22229.

Guided Bird Watching Cruises - Stuart Line Cruises - There are a number of cruises from Exmouth Marina. A full timetable of Decembers' cruises is available on there website. The vessel has an open top deck and an enclosed and heated lower deck. Toilets and disabled access is available as well as a refreshments bar selling hot and cold drinks including homemade soup and snacks. Advanced Booking is strongly recommended for these popular cruises. 

Honiton Farmers Market -  Thursday the 17th of December 2009. A wide variety of local produce will be on offer, including: homemade cakes and pies, rare breed pork, ostrich produce, fresh meat, venison, fresh vegetables, cheese, jam and flowers. 

Seaton Farmers Market - Friday the 18th of December 2009. Tea, coffee, homemade cakes and pies, rare breed pork, venison, fresh vegetables, cheese, jam and flowers; all the ingredients necessary for a lovely meal of local Devon produce. Town Hall, Seaton, Devon, Tel: 01404 831310.

Topsham Slow Food Market - Sunday the 21st of December 2009 at Matthew's Hall Topsham. Map. This is a local market of fresh local produce.  

Christmas at Killerton - See Killerton House decorated for Christmas. Saturday 5th Dec - Wednesday the 23rd of December. 2pm - 4pm at Killerton House, Broadclyst, Exeter. National Trust members have free admission - telephone 01392 881345 for more details.

Magical days of Christmas at Crealy - Visit Father Christmas and meet Crealy's real-live Nativity animals, Friday 18th - Wednesday 23rd December, 10am to 5pm.

Sail With Santa - Stuart Line Crusies, 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th of December. Sail with Santa on a one hour River Exe Cruise and meet the man himself to tell him what you'd like for Christmas and receive a gift to tide you over till December 25th. Also enjoy a glass of Hot Mulled Wine and a warm mince pie whilst listening to the commentary on the river. Advanced Bookings Only.

Birdwatching cruise - Devon Wildlife Trust. 8:30 am - 10:30 am 13th December 2009 Cruise on the Rivers Tamar and Lyner to see avocets and spoonbills. Full commentary by Bruce Taggart.
