The Cottage Company Devon is pleased to announce that we have just picked up the keys to our new holiday cottage rentals office and shop. The shop is a stones throw from the beautiful beach at Budleigh Salterton, once we have completed refit works and have an opening date we will post more information. We are looking forward to meeting more of our guests at the shop during their stay.
Exeter Farmers Market - A wide variety of fresh local Westcountry foods are available to try and buy at the Exeter's Farmers Market. The market runs every Thursday throughout the year on the junction of South Street and Fore Street. 9am - 2pm.
Exeter Racecourse - Racedays - Publicans' Day Wednesday the 1st of April & Children's Day Tuesday the 14th of April. Exeter Racecourse is the South West's most prestigious racecourse, sitting high on the top of Haldon Hill, just outside Exeter with wonderful views down towards Dartmoor. It's the highest in UK at 850 feet above sea level, the second longest at 2 miles and has been described as one of the "loveliest" and fairest race tracks in the country. Exeter Bach Society Perform St John's Passion - Conducted by its Musical Director, Nicholas Marshall, the Exeter Bach Society choir and orchestra will perform St John Passion, on the eve of Palm Sunday, Saturday 4 April, at 7.30pm in The Mint Church, Exeter. Devon Nature Walk - Dawlish Warren. Thursday the 2nd of April 10:00 - 13:00. Nature walk with Nigel Pinhorn. Meet at the far end of the car park (pay & display - £1). Grid ref: SX980787. Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink 2009 - Friday 17 - Sunday 19 April 2009. Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle Courtyard will play host to the South West's largest food and drink festival. Try & Buy a fantastic array of regional products. Situated in three marquee pavilions, over 100 South West producers will be exhibiting, including Quickes Traditional, Brimblecombe Cider and the South Devon Chilli Farm! You can expect cookery demonstrations as well as lots of food and drink fun and games. The Castle Courtyard will provide the backdrop for the celebrity chef cookery demonstrations. Chefs include Michael Caines, James and Chris Tanner and Peter Gorton. The Castle Courtyard will also host the After Dark event, two exciting evenings (Friday and Saturday) of live music with regional ales and ciders, as well as many other West Country treats.
